Brebda GehrkeBrenda Gehrke is a Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner with the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta and is Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences.  Brenda has been the foundation of the clinic since the loss of its founder, her mother, the late Ruth E. Shiels.  During twenty eight years of practice Brenda has successfully dispensed thousands of hearing instruments to people in Central Alberta and beyond.  The knowledge gained through years of experience makes the transition to hearing aids for her clients as easy and seamless as possible.  As owner and manager of Hearing Sense you may rest assured that you will be treated with dignity, respect and fairness when working with Brenda or any of the professional staff at Hearing Sense.

 
Desiree

Desiree Wu, BC-HIS, Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner

Hearing is abstract, Each client’s needs are unique, That’s why I treat each individual With compassion, and make sure Their life with hearing aids is more Complete.

Desiree is a member in good standing with the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta and the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences. When not working she enjoys traveling, working out and spending time with her friends and family, including her two Siamese cats.

 
Gina Shiels

Gina Shiels is a Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner licensed with the College of Hearing Aid Practitoners of Alberta and is Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Sciences.   Currently Gina is the Manager of the Camrose and Wetaskiwin Hearing Sense offices and as of May 2011 brings 15 years of practical experience to her clients.   She presently sits on the CHAPA exam committee and spends many hours devoted to training and mentoring  students of the Hearing Aid Practitioners Program.  Gina always brings the highest degree of professional care to her clients, providing the best possible advice regarding hearing instrument technology and assistive devices to aid in her clients journey to better hearing.

 
Shawna Pettinger

Shawna Pettinger is a recent graduate of the Hearing Aid Practitioners Program at Grant McEwan College, Edmonton.  Shawna recently joined Hearing Sense in the Camrose and Wetaskiwin offices and will train and work with Gina Shiels, Registered Hearing Aid Practitioner.  Shawna says, “being a Hearing Aid Practitioner is important to me because not only do I have the opportunity to work with fantastic people; every day we are able to help our clients improve their quality of life through better hearing.  It’s not just a job, it’s a daily joy to help others communicate more effectively with their friends and loved ones.”
